Bryn's teeth

I mentioned that Bryn bashed her teeth but I wanted to document what actually happened. Keeper had been out of town for a week so we went to the airport to pick him up. We came home and all the kids ran outside to play in the backyard while we made lunch. While out there the boys invited our neighbor's kid over to play while they went to the mall. We ate lunch and things went pretty smoothly but the kids were getting restless toward the end of the time that the neighbor was over. We decided to head out side again. Bryn really wanted to jump on the trampoline so we got up there with her and she was doing great! We were all laughing and having a good time. The San Antonio heat is really tough on things and it has destroyed our net and the pad around the outside of the trampoline. We've been meaning to replace them but for some reason we never do. I was standing by Bryn and she turned towards the edge of the trampoline and took 3 steps while falling towards the edge. Her mouth hit the metal bar and (because she's so tiny) her whole body slipped through the springs. Luckily I was right there and I was able to reach through the springs and grab her leg before she fell to the ground. When I pulled her up she was screaming and I thought at first it was that she was scared. Then I noticed the blood. It was pouring out of her mouth. We took her in to clean her up and her top right front tooth was pushed pretty far up into the gums and the top left front tooth was chipped. Our neighbors showed up right then to pick up their kid. I'm sure we were a sight to see, huddled around a screaming baby covered in blood. Welcome home guys. We called the dentist and they could see us immediately. He said that the left tooth was pretty loose so she could lose it and the right one should come back down on it's own. He also said that if she didn't lose the left one, because the right one went up so far it could have damaged the root of the left one and it could change to a greyish color. He told us to not let her use those teeth for 10 days and no sippy cups for that time either. That was tough but we got through it. Now is just a waiting game. The tooth has gradually started to come down and she still has both of them. Hooray! She definitely has a more jagged smile but we still love it!

This is a horrible picture of Bryn but it was the best we have of her teeth. It also shows what those 10 days were like...we had a dirty, crusty baby. She bashed open her mouth twice while it was healing. I think we are finally past that and she is on the mend. Poor baby!

Carson is 5!

My big "Stickers" is 5! The moment his birthday was here he asked if it was the fall so he could go to school. He is so ready but I'm enjoying this last little while with my big helper at home. Carson and Camy are total buddies! They play so well together (usually) and watch out for Bryn too. Carson LOVES to color. He gets out pens, crayons, markers, pretty much anything that will write, multiple times a day. Carson is also pretty funny. He could care less whether he's in trouble as long as he can make you laugh while he does it. We love him so much!

Keeper was out of town on business on Carson's actual birthday so we just hung out and had fun around the house. We did go through the drive-thu at Carl's Jr...which is Carson's favorite restaurant...aka "The Star Place".
I also made a cake and let the kids decorate it. They thought this was the coolest thing ever! It was supposed to be red, although it looks pink. It had Halloween, Valentine and any other sprinkle we had on it. It was so fun!

Once Keeper was back in town and we could work out a time for my family to come over we had a little party for Carson. He wanted a T-rex cake and a pinata. It was fun letting him play such a big role in the planning of the party. He definitely knows what he wants.
Carson helped with the cake. He put the gumballs all along the outside and put them in a specific pattern.

Carson also helped make marshmellow fondant. He loved that I let him play in a bag of powdered sugar.

The finished cake. Not the best one I've ever done but Carson thought it was the coolest and that's what counts.

The party and presents.

SO CARSON!

Pinata-so worth it to see that smile!

I hope your birthday was wonderful Carson! We love you buddy!
