The 4th Celebrations

My thoughts have been elsewhere but we did have an awesome time celebrating the 4th this year. This is really long so either grab a snack and sit for a while or just skip to the pictures. That's what I sometimes do.
Keeper had Thursday and Friday off. He was supposed to be at Scout Camp but thanks to another leader staying the whole week he didn't have to go. (Alfonzo, if you read this, which I highly doubt, I owe you one.)
Thursday we went to Carson's ENT appointment. I've already blogged about all of that but it was really nice having Keeper along. He was able to ask his own questions and hear what the doctor was saying rather than second hand through me.
After that we headed over to my brother's house for games and dinner. This was a lot of fun! It is so hard getting to play game with 6 little kids around. The kids just played and were so good. Why can't it always be like that?!
After that we headed over to Keeper's city league basketball game. This was my first and maybe my last game to go to. It was fun watching him play and have fun but it was hard trapping 3 little kids in and keeping them all safe. I felt like everytime I looked up the other team had to ball. His team won that night so it couldn't have been too bad.
Friday morning we headed out to Schlitterbahn with my parents and my brother and his family. We had so much fun! The kids played all day long in the water. They loved it so much! I think we might need to take our kids every year. Here are some pictures from the day. (Thanks Celeste)

I think we all felt like Carson at some point in the day.

We went out for dinner and Carson wanted the salsa on his chips. This is what he thought of it.

On Saturday, we had a neighborhood parade in the morning. By the end of it Camy was being held by someone else in the ward, I was holding a crying Carson (I left his bike after the first corner we turned), and Parker's bike was loosing a training wheel and he was about to bite it everytime he turned. Sucess?! The kids liked the popsicles that we had after it was over.





We went over to some friends house for dinner and swimming in the evening. We had a lot of fun and the kids loved it but we were all tired by the time the weekend was through. Happy fourth of July!

Camy's chins

I got a free moment so I wanted to share a cute story. We were just sitting here and I was holding Camy. Carson came walking up and said "Mommy...that's Camy's chin?" and pointed to her chin. I said yes and kept doing what I was doing. Then he said, "and Mommy...this is another Camy's chin?" I looked down and he was pointing at her roll under her chin. Definately a "double chin"...even Carson thinks so. I laughed pretty hard.

Carson's hospital stay

Last Wednesday we went into the hospital at about 11:30am and got checked in. They sent us up to pre-op where they told us what would happen, had us change Carson into a gown, and then let us play in a playroom for a while.


Then, about 1:45pm they told us that they were going to give Carson some medicine that is comparable to him drinking 2 margaritas. My poor baby! It would make him loopey and he would have a hard time focusing. We were reading a book at this time and when we asked where something was Carson couldn't point in the right place, his hand kept moving. It was kinda funny but also pretty sad to see him like that.

They had us walk back to the hall that led to the opeating room. Carson was pretty out of it but still gave us each a hug. One of the hardest part of the day was saying good-bye. Giving my little guy a hug good-bye and placing all my trust in the doctors and the Lord was tough. Although it was a routine operation, it was still an operation and the doctor had even been hesitant to do it because he was so tiny. When we walked off Carson cried for us and the tears started flowing. Hearing him yell "mommy" down the hall as they took him away just killed me!
We got a call about 5 minutes later and they said he was put under, the surgery had started and he was doing well. Half an hour later the doctor came out and said everything went well. His tonsils were huge, as expected, and everything went smoothly. They would call us when he started to wake up.
A few minutes later, we got the call. We went back and he was stirring a little. When he was awake he started fighting it. He grabbed onto the IV and tried to take it out. Blood started backing up in it, but soon everything was okay. They gave him some morphine and he went to sleep. The first person he asked for was Parker. He is always with Parker and I wonder if being away from him at such a tramic time was harder on him than the actual surgery.
About an hour later we were heading up to his room. He was still asleep. Keeper moved him from the stetcher to his bed and he woke up. He was happy and really understood what was going on this time. This was when I finally felt relieved because he actually seemed like himself.
He watched some movies and drank a ton of juice. He threw up once but really everything went pretty smooth. My mom was at the hospital and he really liked seeing her. Matt, Celeste, and the girls brought up Parker and Carson really liked seeing all of them too.


It has been 6 days now since the surgery. Carson is doing well. Bouncing off the walls as usual. We have to watch him pretty close for 3 weeks to make sure there is no bleeding. Soft food and no outdoor play for 3 weeks. Hopefully we don't go nuts! The discharge papers said no running and jumping for 3 weeks. YEAH RIGHT!

Catching up...

Well, it has been a while since I have posted and a lot has happened since then. Here are a few of the highlights.
Camy is into everything! The boys made a tent and wanted to eat under the table. I heard Camy and this is what I saw. What a little stinker getting into their snack.

She is also getting into everything else too. Here are a few of her other moments when she was content by herself. I found out why she was happy being along.



I have plenty of cute pictures of Camy and quite a few of Carson. I wanted to get a new one of Parker and I thought this one turned out pretty good. He is such a cute boy and getting so big!

Father's Day was a while back. We had a really good day! Keeper is such a good dad and the kids eat up all the attention from him they can get. Here are some pictures of the present opening. The kids got to choose what they wanted to get Keeper this year. Here is what they chose.

It is official...

Well we have good and bad news. Carson is getting his tonsils out. He will be able to hear better. He had a hearing test today and there was slight hearing loss due to fluid in his ears. He will be able to swallow when he needs to, eat what he wants to, breathe better, sleep better, just all around feel better. The bad news...my baby is going to have surgery! On wednesday at 2pm Carson is going to be in surgery. I am terrified! I know that it will make things better and he shouldn't be so sick anymore but it's scary. The last time he went into the ENT the doctor was really hesitant to take them out because he is so young and weighs so little for his age. It would be really serious if he was one of the few who bleed after surgery. This time we went in, the doctor and the audiologist were sure it needed to happen. I'm sure everything will turn out okay I am just scared! My poor baby!

Sea World

My kids love Sea World. We visit there often. Here are some pics of the kids in the Splash Park. I have gone there with all 3 kids by myself and we will go see shows also but I haven't tackled the waterpark yet by myself. This is a goal I have for the next week or so. Wish me luck!

Camy

Camy is getting so big, so fast. She is already 7 months. Wow! She is the prettiest little girl (if I do say so myself) but she is so spoiled. She will smile at whoever and play with them as long as I am holding her. It makes life a little rough but I wouldn't trade her for the world. Here are some new pics of our little sweetheart.

Yes, Camy is crawling and has been moving around for a couple weeks now. She gets frustrated because she can't do everything we can and she's not as fast as the boys but she has been a little more content lately.
